Door Awning FAQs

The following are frequently asked questions and troubleshooting procedures regarding Advaning products. For any questions or an apparent issue that cannot be resolved, please feel free to contact Advaning’s Customer Service team at (855) 574-0158.

Answer :

Polycarbonates (PC) are a group of thermoplastic polymers containing carbonate groups in their chemical structures. Polycarbonates used in engineering are strong, tough materials.  Some grades are optically transparent.

Answer :

A hollow sheet is consisted of multiple thin layers of polycarbonate.  To save cost, empty space is set in between each layer.  While hollow or walled sheets are more cost effective, it weakens the impact resistance when compared to solid sheets.  Hollow sheets are also prone to the accumulation of dust, rain, and mold within their cavities.  Solid sheets do not possess the potential forsuch buildup.

Advaning Door Awning's solid polycarbonate canopy panel is fabricated from 100% Bayer virgin raw material. Many brands use lesser grade recycled materials that often have impurities mixed in.  Beware of polycarbonate panels that are hollow.  Cutting corners short-changes customers with products that do not stand up to the elements for long.  Advaning takes pride in its product lines, ensuring that customers get solid panels of pure material from the source to protect the windows and doorways of each installation.  The panels are clear, safe, clean, and attach to their frames using an EPDM grade rubber seal that prevents moisture penetration.

Answer :

Polycarbonate has more flexibility and strength than glass.  It is also more resiliant than acrylic.
